This Robust hiking event will take us from the village of Castleton and across the stunning North Yorkshire Moors along trails and footpaths, there is one cheeky hill to tackle and then we finish at the top of the 199 steps at the iconic Whitby Abbey and will see us not only raising money for the armed forces charity Walking With The Wounded but also raising awareness for mental health issues such as PTSD Anxiety and depression ......... It is after all Mental Health Awareness Week.
Lead by two fully qualified Mountain Leaders who are first aid trained and insured and will ensure your safety the whole way, whether you’re joining the event solo or with friends, are no stranger to the hills or haven’t got your brand new boots muddy yet, we work as a team at Robustours. You’ll make new friends, visit new places, be able to take some mega outdoor selfies and achieve a physical challenge to be proud of! It's time to smash your daily step goals! 💪
The event is being coordinated by John Beamson, John is a veteran himself with over ten years servive in the British army and now own and runs Robustours.
John is a qualified Mountain Leader who has spent the last two years undertaking long distance hikes, climbing all of the highest mountains in the UK and working with senior Mountain Leaders so we are in experienced and safe hands.
